“Service: The Singapore Way” – this tagline set the theme for the annualWORLDView Youth Conference 2006. 100 South West District students aged 17 to 21 years from local schools, pre-tertiary and tertiary institutions, and even an international school, went through a one-week attachment to organisations from the finance, food & beverage, healthcare, retail and tourism industries. Partnering organisations included Shangri-La Hotel, Citibank, 77 th Street, Alexandra Hospital, Metro Shopping Centre and the Singapore Zoological Gardens. The hands-on attachment provided the youths with valuable insights into the service requirements within each industry.
