As the first event of its kind ever to be held in Singapore, the PEARL IZUMI ZERO CARBON FAMILY AQUATHON @ SOUTH WEST 2008 is an innovative and fun-filled family activity with an environmental and charity cause. Co-organized by TriZEN Sports Pte Ltd/Team TriZEN, Pearl Izumi, Southwest CDC and the National University of Singapore, this aquathon is about team-work within your family. Family teams each comprising of 2 to 4 family (immediate or extended) members must complete 200m swim in a swimming pool and a 2-km run, followed by another 200m pool swim and then another 2-km run. It does not matter how fast or slow you are. As long as you finish the distances, you are a champion and we will give you a trophy!
The registration fees will go toward financing the tree-planting program of a welfare home in the South West district. This will help the recovery of the residents at this home and protect our environment.
You will also learn about many cool environmental technologies and ways to lead a more environmentally-friendly life at an exhibition during the event. You will even get to ride in a bus that uses biodiesel taken from waste oil! Not to mention that you have the chance to win attractive lucky draw prizes too!
Please join us for a fun-filled Sunday morning of family bonding, community service and environmental living. So, keep this in mind:
