About South West CDC

Formed on 24 November 2001, the South West Community Development Council (CDC) functions as the local administration of the South West district. The three strategic thrusts of the South West CDC are Assisting the Needy, Bonding the People and Connecting the Community.

The South West CDC provides social and employment assistance to help the less fortunate in our community. Through its functional committees, the South West CDC also organises projects and programmes to promote community bonding and social cohesion. The South West CDC adopts the "Many Helping Hands" approach to encourage community ownership among residents, community partners and corporations to realise its vision of "Owning Your Community".

Dr Amy Khor has been serving as Mayor of South West District since her appointment on 12 August 2004. Dr Khor is also the Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Ministry of Manpower, Member of Parliament for Hong Kah North SMC and Adviser to Hong Kah North grassroots organisations (GROs).
